EDUS Code of Conduct

House Rules

Any breach of rules should be reported to an EDUS member with the Founder or Arbiter role as they have moderator functionality.

Rules For All EDUS Discord Users

These rules apply to all users of our Discord i.e. it includes visitors / ambassadors from other clans and communities, not just full EDUS members and applies to usage of all channels including voice:

1. Respect: Treat all community members and opponents with respect and keep things civil. No form of harassment, bullying, or discrimination will be tolerated.

2. Authenticity: Be yourself and don't try to emulate your favourite streamer. If you wouldn't act a way IRL, don't do it here.

3. Integrity: Play with integrity. Cheating, or using hacks undermines the spirit of fair play and is strictly prohibited. Do not share content about how to cheat.

4. Enjoyment: Remember that we are here for fun. This isn't the place to discuss religion, politics and other contentious topics. Keep the atmosphere light and fun, even in competitive settings.

5. No Promotions: No spam or self-promotion (server invites, advertisements etc) without permission from a Founder. This includes DMing fellow members.

6. Keep it clean(ish): We're not asking for saints, but we're here because we're tired of the shit that goes on in other communities Discords. Think of EDUS like a public gym - no porn, no hate, nothing offensive, in general no immature BS else the big guy lifting heavy may come and smack you.

Rules For EDUS Members

As well as the house rules for Discord, those who have joined as clan members and use EDUS clans in games must follow the following the rules:

7. Represent: You are free to set up and run EDUS clans in whatever games you want and recruit people from this community to play with you, or recruit people into the community. Please use the EDUS name / tag, and reference our website edus.gg in descriptions.

8. Recruit: It’s hard to tell when recruiting someone new what they will be like. Check them out as much as you can and make them aware of our Code of Conduct.

9. Enforce our Standards: If someone is banned from EDUS due to their behaviour, remove them from Clans / Guilds in any games you manage. You can still play with these people if you like, just not as EDUS. If you ban someone in a game, let a Founder or Arbiter know so we can cascade it across games.

10. Cooperate: If an EDUS group already exists in a game you want to play, join that. Don't start another just so you can be a leader. Only if the group is full or there's some agreed strategic advantage should you start another - never work against other EDUS members.

11. Branding: If forming an EDUS group in a game use the title EDUS or House Edus. If there's an option for a logo, go with whatever is closest to our heraldry. If you can upload a logo ask Cly-J for a copy.

General Guidance

  • Names: Try to be consistent with your name across games, Discord, Steam, etc. As the EDUS community grows it will make things less confusing for members - remember you can set a nickname on our Discord server for how you wish to be known.

  • Rep Members: If you have a good or bad experience with a member, use the Rep system.

  • Don’t Try to Game the System: A variety of rules have been added to the rep system - engage with it honestly, otherwise it may not have the affect that you think…
